A young mechanical engineer from Boston named James J. Kelley founded Acme Engineering Co. in 1948. Acme Engineering’s main focus was large plan & spec work including hospitals, commercial buildings, industrial plants, etc.
As Acme’s total number of installed jobs grew, we found a need for a service division to start-up and maintain the equipment under warranty and beyond. This trend continued to grow to the point where we decided to change our focus from plan and spec work to servicing our existing Customer base. Our company’s current CEO, Peter E. Kelley and his brother were at the helm during this transition.
In 1983, we changed our name to AAA Energy Service Co. and restructured ourselves to become a full service Design-Build-Maintain HVAC company. Today, AAA Energy Service Co. employs around 75 people with an annual volume of over 12 million dollars. We have three branches (Auburn NH, Scarborough ME, and Pittsfield ME) and cover a territory including Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Vermont.
